Keep Doing What You Know
Many of you have been applying the principles of God's word for awhile. You may have the question, "when is anything going to happen?" Do you know that is a question that we've all asked at one time or another. This is where faith comes into play. We must make the decision that we are going to believe God's word over our circumstances. We are going to choose to believe that God is faithful. If we are doing what He instructed us to do, then He is doing His part. It's just a matter of time before we see the reality of what He promised. You might say, "how long is that?" I don't know - but it will happen if we don't quit believing and doing what we know to do.
Galatians 6:7,9 tells us "For whatever a man sows, that and that only is what he will reap. And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint." Don't quit doing what you know to do. Keep praying, spending time in the word, praising, giving money, time, and resources to the kingdom of God. Keep working at what God has called you to do, keep obeying the word, and His voice on the inside of you and at the "due time and appointed season" you shall reap!
In Genesis 22:1-17 you see how Abraham kept doing what he knew to do and God showed up and provision was made. A short summary of theses verses is that God told Abraham to take his only son and sacrifice him as a burnt offering. Abraham didn't even know what mountain to go to but he immediately got moving. On the third day, the Lord showed him which mountain to worship on. If he wouldn't have started with what he knew, then he wouldn't have got the next step. Do what you know to do right now, and the next step will be given. Let's go back to Abraham. Once he knew what mountain to go worship on, then he instructed the others to stay at the bottom and he and his son continued up the mountain. They got to the top of the mountain, built the altar, and Abraham lifted his knife to sacrifice his son. The angel of The Lord stopped him, and showed him the provision He had for him. After this the angel started declaring and showing him that all of the nations of the earth were going to be blessed because he obeyed the voice of God. Do you know that your family and friends are counting on you to obey the voice of God? Not only is your future attached to what you do but so is the future of your family. If you don't obey in the small things, then you won't obey when the pressure is on. Keep doing what you know to do, and God will provide.
As Abraham did what he knew, coming up one side of the mountain was him and on the other side was that ram. If Abraham would have decided to do it on another mountain, the provision wouldn't have been there. But as he moved in obedience, so did the provision. As you do what you know God is telling you to do, then know that it's just a matter of time before you and the provision God has for you intersect!
